New Year’s Resolution Tips From Prospector Ranch!

~ Natalia Radcliffe ~

Another year has come and gone. Welcome to 2026! Get used to writing a different year now.

For many of us, we get inspired by a new year and set resolutions for ourselves, goals we want to accomplish. But, as we all have probably experienced, those goals don’t always last and see to fruition, which can be frustrating. But you want to know something? There are simple and easy things you can put into place to help you stick to your resolutions and actually see them through!

Here are 3 you can start implementing today.

1. Make mini goals.

So you have this goal you want to accomplish. That’s great! But how are you going to overcome this now large hill you’ve felt you’ve set for yourself? Make mini goals to help yourself to help keep motivation up and to make it more digestible. For example, if your goal was to exercise more in the new year, start with small little goals like taking a 5 minute walk every day to get yourself hyped up and motivated to do more!

2. Be specific.

Try and set a specific goal. If it’s too general, it could be too overwhelming, and, when you don’t have the motivation, you could find loopholes to get out of sticking with it. For example, instead of saying you want to exercise more in the new year, say you want to exercise for 2 hours a week this year. It’s more accomplishable goal, and it’s easily quantifiable to track your progress.

3. Keep it realistic to your capabilities.

You don’t want to make a goal for yourself that seems almost impossible for you to complete. That will drain your motivation faster than anything. Instead, make a goal that  you feel you can actually meet. Keeping the same example, if you want to exercise more in the new year, perhaps make a goal to join a dancing class and commit to that for a year, or commit to going on an hour hike twice a month at a local park.

We hope these tips help you! Here’s to a great 2026. You got this.
