Beaches can be a relaxing sanctuary. With the temperate weather, the smell of the ocean in the air and the light marine breeze that caresses your face, it can be the perfect destination for your mom, especially if she enjoys the ocean. From walks along the beach, to surfing, shopping, and places to eat, there are many ways to enjoy California’s coastline, and something for everyone. And best of all, Prospector Ranch is located near many beaches, so you have a variety of places to choose from.

3. Hiking
If your mom loves exploring the outdoors, there are a plethora of hiking trails near Prospector Ranch, some even within a walking distance. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced, there is something for everyone. For a list of some trails that are near us, check out this blog.
Places To Hike Near Prospector Ranch
Located at the Peter Strauss Ranch theater nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains in Agoura Hills, this event is an annual summer concert series, with the first performance being on Mother’s Day! If your mom likes music and the feel of the Hollywood Bowl, but smaller and more casual and rustic, then you might want to consider including a concert as part of her Mother’s Day itinerary. You can get tickets on their website, as well as peruse it and see some of the pictures of past concerts there, to get a good feel of its vibe.
5. Moorpark Apricot Festival and Art Fair
This year the Apricot Festival and Art Fair located in Moorpark is going to be on May 10, the day before Mother’s Day! If you are staying with us for Mother’s Day weekend, this might be something you want to check out. As the name suggests, if your mom loves all things apricots, then she would love this event. Celebrating all things of the tasty fruit as well as local art and culture, there is something here for a variety of tastes and interests.
