3 Activity Ideas for Your Labor Day Weekend!

With Fall fast approaching, Labor Day is just around the corner. For many, that means a three-day weekend, an opportunity to kick back and relax, and give yourself a mini vacation. But, what could you possibly do on your three-day weekend?
Why not spend a night or two in one of our Airbnbs? We have a unique Conestoga covered wagon that takes you right back to the Old West days, a rustic Safari tent that gives the feeling of camping out underneath the stars, and a vintage 1972 Airstream.
There are plenty of things to do around the area when you are staying with us, and today we have 3 ideas for you if you are visiting us Labor Day weekend.
1. Go see a concert!
Enjoying live music can be a nice way to spend a weekend day or holiday. And you don’t even have to spend a lot of money to go see one! Thousand Oaks’s Summer Concerts in the Park is free, and has their final concert of the series this year on Labor Day.
The band that is playing is called 90's Rock Show. They cover a lot of iconic songs from the 1990s, including songs from artists like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, GreenDay, and No Doubt. The concert is located at 1175 Hendrix Avenue, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360 (off Gainsborough Road, at the intersection of Dover and Hendrix Avenues).
It’s about a 20 minute drive from us.
2. Simi End of Summer Carnival at the Simi Valley Town Center
Simi Valley’s End of the Summer Carnival at the Simi Valley Town Center goes from August 28 through Labor Day. It’s a fun way to celebrate the end of summer, enjoying the last of the hot months before it starts to very gradually cool down. Best of all, parking and admission for the carnival is free!
The carnival includes activities like rides, games and prizes, carnival food, shopping, live entertainment, and more. For Labor Day, the carnival hours are from 2:00pm to 9:00pm.

3. Aloha Beach Festival
This free festival takes place at Promenade Park/Surfer's Point in Ventura, west of the Ventura Pier. This festival is a celebration of all things Hawaiian culture. It also supports Ventura’s social and environmental non-profits, which is always a plus, as we love to see support for local communities.
The festival includes live music, cultural performances, various activities, such as watching Frisbee dog shows, enjoying the C Street Classic Surf Contest, and much more. You will also have the opportunity to munch on some yummy food and drinks, including visiting their beer garden if you want to sit down and enjoy a drink and soak in the sights, sounds, and peaceful environment of the beach.
This event is about 40 minutes to 1 hour’s drive from us.
