Fall Events and Festivals to Check Out Near Prospector Ranch!

Can you believe we are already going into October? The smell of fall in the air has been making itself known a little more lately. What better way to welcome in the fall season than to go to some fall festivals? We at Prospector Ranch have some ideas for you, and, best of all, each of these are under an hours drive from us! If you are staying with us in our charming Conestoga Covered wagon, vintage 1972 Airstream, or our rustic Safari tent, these places are perfect for a day outing that can end with a short drive back to your Airbnb, where you can end the day sipping a favorite drink enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature surrounding you.


Harvest Days in Downtown Ventura

For the entire month of November, Downtown Ventura is celebrating all things fall and spooky!

It’s a short walk from the waterfront and the Amtrak and Metrolink station, with public parking structures on Santa Clara Street and along California Street.

From their Fall Flavor Trail, to their Scarecrow Stroll, Downtown pumpkin patch and more, there is something for everyone of all ages. For a complete list of all events that will be going on in the month, you can visit their website!


Simi Valley Oktoberfest event

Oktoberfest, a looked-forward-to event each year, is coming up shortly! Simi Valley has an Oktoberfest even on Saturday, October 3. There will be beer to try (naturally) as well as food and live music. This event is for those 21 and older.

It’s located at Lemon Park (also known as Rancho Tapo Community Park), at 3700 Avenida Simi Valley.

General Admission ticket prices are $25, and if you want the VIP experience, that is $200. General admission includes access to the beer tent, Oktoberfest music and concert viewing areas, food trucks, and more amenities.

2026 Calabasas Pumpkin Festival at De Anza Park

Located at Juan Bautista de Anza Park, 3701 Lost Hills Road, this event, as you might have guessed, celebrates all things pumpkin. This event will take place on Sunday, October 18, from 10am to 5pm.

There are a plethora of things to do for people of all ages, including strolling in a pumpkin patch, tasting some pumpkin pies, pumpkin paining, live music, getting some yummy things to eat and drink at various food trucks and the Food Court, witnessing professional pumpkin carving, photo opportunities, replies shows, inflatable rides, games, and much more.

Tickets are $20 per person. You can buy them either online or at the door. A tip for you: if you do buy them at the door, you will need cash.

They also have a pre-purchase discount ticket available online only, which are $15 per person (processing fees do apply). This sale ends on October 17 at 11:59pm.

St. Paschal Baylon Presents Conejo Fall Fest

Located at 155 Janss Road, in Thousand Oaks, this festival takes place Friday, October 9 (from 5pm-10pm), Saturday, October 10 (from 2pm - 10pm) and Sunday October 11 (from 1pm -9pm).

Admission is free!

There are plenty of things to do, from carnival rides and games, to snacking on a variety good food and drink (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and enjoying live music. And that’s just some of the things it offers.

For the rides, you will need to purchase tickets. They can be purchased at the Festival Ticket booths with cash, card, or Apple/Google pay. They also have pre-sale online purchases you can get through their website here. That sale ends October 6.
