Prospector Ranch is turning 4 years old this month!

Can you believe it?

It’s been 4 years of events, stars visiting, and many wonderful guests staying at our Airbnb’s who we have met.

And to think it all started in 2020, right before the pandemic, as a way for owner Meggan Kimberley to make some money during an uncertain time. That idea became a passion project of hers that grew and grew into what it has become today.

Coming from a background working for the company Lionsgate Entertainment as Vice President of International Sales & Marketing, she turned to the filming side of the entertainment industry after being affected by company layoffs, offering the property on Prospector Ranch as a space for filming and photography.

We have had many stars here over the years for photography or filming projects.

For example, Justin Hartley, known for his role on the TV show This Is Us, had a photoshoot at Prospector Ranch for a magazine article. magazine article.

Jay Leno filmed an episode of his show Jay Leno’s Garage here where he interviewed singer/songwriter John Fogerty, former member of rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival.

One of our most well-known photoshoots was having Maddie Ziegler and Eddie here for Harpers Bizarre Magazine.

Our rustic elegant saloon is a highlight on the property, being featured in many photoshoots and film projects, such as the ones listed above. In fact, Jay Leno and John Fogerty sat on the porch of the saloon to conduct their interview.

Prospector Ranch hasn’t just been the focus of creative projects, however. We offer the property as a venue for events, and we’ve had quite a few since the creation of the business. Our most well-known was our Children to Love Fundraiser, where we raised over $15,000 for the charities Mercy Childcare based in Uganda, and Future for Children in Ukraine. We are so grateful to all the vendors, the representatives from Children to Love, and all the participants who attended and supported a good cause.

In addition, we have had weddings. For one, the ceremony was conducted on the porch behind the main house, overlooking the property down below. It’s a truly breathtaking sight, especially at sunset.

In addition to a venue, we also host three different unique Airbnb’s: a Conestoga covered wagon, a rustic safari tent, and a 1972 vintage Airstream. We recently updated our grounds surrounding the covered wagon and safari tent to create a new 4th Airbnb, called Miner’s Camp. This combines the covered wagon and safari tent into one Airbnb, for groups, families and couples taking guests back to the Old West, complete with the freeing feeling of camping out under the stars in comfort.

4 years of being host to Airbnbs, events, filming and photography projects. So much has happened in those years. We can’t wait to see what the future holds! To all of our customers and guests, we thank you for supporting us. We look forward to meeting even more filmmakers, photographers, event planners, and Airbnb guests in the future. Here’s to many more rewarding and successful years!
