Need Some Father’s Day Activities Near Prospector Ranch? Here’s Some Winery/Brewery Places to Check Out!
~ Natalia Radcliffe ~
Father’s Day is this weekend! Need any ideas?
Last time on the Prickly Pear Press we talked about hiking places your father or father figure might be interested in exploring. This week we want to give you some brewery/winery places he might be interested in! If you decide to make it a Father’s Day weekend and stay in either our Conestoga covered wagon, rustic Safari Tent or vintage 1972 Airstream, there are a variety of brewery and winery places nearby to check out if you’re in the mood for some good food and drink. The ones listed below are all personally recommended by the Prospector Ranch team.
Cornell Wineries

Located just 5 minutes off the 101 Freeway, people come from all over to visit Cornell Winery, which is located in the Santa Monica Mountains between Malibu and Agoura Hills. Depending on what you’re interested in, you can book their signature wine tasting where you enjoy reserved seating in their back room or patio while tasting 7 different wines with the option of adding snacks to the reservation if desired, or their trio wine tasting experience where there is no reservation required and you get to enjoy trying three different wines from their tasting menu, enjoying sipping the drinks in their tasting room or outside at one of their tables.
The owner, Matt, is a friend of ours so if you’re staying with us and decide to give the place a visit, let him know you’re a guest of ours and that we say hi!
If you're interested in eating a meal with your wine, the very special and unique Old Place Restaurant is right next door, a steakhouse that has been operating for over 50 years.

The Stone Haus

With their wines, they have a variety of red and white wines to choose from that you can either get by the glass or bottle, depending on what you choose. If you are the designated driver, you can choose from a variety of hot, cold, or blended coffees to sip on while you munch on your food.
It’s a first come, first serve experience, so if you are planning on going there, be sure to either account for a wait time, or try and swing by when it may be quieting down from a busy time.

It has both a sit-down dining area and a bar, as well as an exclusive whiskey room on the top floor, where you would be able to enjoy a curated selection of drinks to try.
