Summer Outdoor Movie Night? We at Prospector Ranch Have Ideas.
~ Natalia Radcliffe ~
On lazy summer nights, what sounds better than laying down on the grass, with the starry night above you and a good movie playing? Some of the best summer memories can be of those evenings where you enjoy the nice warm weather without the sun beating down on you making it too hot. It’s Goldilocks perfect. Just right.
Whether you live in the Westlake Village or Thousand Oaks area, or are staying with us at one of our Airbnbs (check out other blogs of ours to get more details on those), you might find some interest in outdoor movie showings in the surrounding areas.
Interested? We got you covered.
Here’s a list of ones near us, all about a half an hour’s drive or less.
Rancho Madera Community Park in Simi Valley
Pre-movie activities start at 6:30, and the movie starts at dusk. The final movie they’re doing this summer is Inside Out 2, showing on Friday August 8.
Arroyo Vista Community Park in Moorpark
The movie starts at dusk, and pre-movie activities, such as buying your snacks to munch on, start an hour earlier. There are two more showings in their roster for the summer. On August 9, they are showing Ant-Man, and on September 13, they are showing Sonic 3.
The movie starts at sundown, and pre-movie activities start an hour before, giving you plenty of time to find a good spot and enjoy a festive atmosphere. The two movies they are showing this summer are the Lion King on Friday August 8, and The Incredibles on Friday September 12.
Reyes Adobe Park in Agoura Hills
The movie starts at dusk, and prior to waiting for the sun to go down there are a plethora of activities to do beforehand, including photo opportunities, crafts, raffles, and costume contests, just to name a few. There is one more movie in the lineup this summer, and that is their showing of Despicable Me 4, on August 9.
